ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Kellie and welcome to my massage and movement website…I am a dedicated graduate of The Western School of Massage, based out of Glasgow Caledonian University with diplomas in Anatomy and Physiology, Swedish massage (SCQF level 7) and Sports and Remedial massage (SCQF 8).

I originally trained as a contemporary dancer but due to a hip injury I returned home to Scotland. In 2000 I apprenticed under Chris Blagdon at Scotland’s first Pilates studio in Edinburgh. It was there I rehabilitated my hip injury and trained to teach others on the Pilates studio equipment. I then went on to teach body conditioning/pilates at The Space in Dundee. Looking to further my knowledge I decided to continue my studies with Stott pilates at the London studios and I continue to train and teach with Stott Pilates today. I have dedicated the past 23 years of my life to specialise in Pilates & dance modalities. In 2019 I wanted to delve into the world of yoga and I completed my 500hrtt with seasonal yoga. It really compliments my life’s teaching and I love to incorporate all my knowledge where needed.

For fun I still enjoy teaching Zumba and Nia a couple of times a week!
I love my work, I enjoy seeing people experience better health and wellness, helping people sense pain/tension release in the mind and body brings me joy. I work intuitively with my clients and each session is always tailored to your individual needs.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, getting outdoors, travels in our campervan and being taxi for the kids!

MASSAGE

My aim is to provide you with a bespoke movement and massage service tailored to your individual needs. It’s vital to move your body and also vital to understand no two bodies are the same. When on the path to better physical and mental health we have to consider all aspects of our daily life. We all need to honour our lifestyle, our activity levels and the daily stress we encounter. Massage and movement are the perfect combination for improved overall health and wellness.

I believe a rehabilitation plan is essential following injury from sports but it’s just as important if you’ve been to see me with everyday aches, pains and minor niggles – often caused by just day-to-day living and general daily activities, even gardening! Quite often, all we need to stave off injury – and so to keep working or keep doing the sports/activities we love – is a regular massage and a movement programme designed to your specific needs.

I use effective methods in my treatments to help you recover and regain strength and full body awareness with the intention of getting you back to your optimal condition. You deserve to feel better. I draw inspiration from my years of experience in the movement industry and my continued development in massage therapy to give you a full mind and body rehabilitation experience.

Kellie is a wonderful teacher and all-round excellent human being!  From Nia, yoga, Pilates, and all the brilliant workshops she’s been hosting online during lockdown she has made a genuine difference to the way I think and feel.  Getting me moving; making me calm and relaxed; feeling more supple and strong; being supportive in my journey to get fitter. She’s done it all!  Thank you Kellie!

STOTT PILATES

Pilates, pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates, is a mind-body exercise system designed to optimize physical fitness in people at every level of physical ability. Joseph Pilates (1880–1967) was a German expatriate who first made his mark in England during WWI by developing a series of exercises and innovative equipment to help prisoners of war regain strength and mobility. When Joseph Pilates immigrated to New York, the local professional dance community discovered that his conditioning technique, called ‘Contrology’ helped prevent injury and improve strength while maintaining long, even muscle tone.

“If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.”
JOSEPH PILATES
